Safe & Sound’s ‘Cakes for a Cause’ Offers the Community a Sweet Way to Show their Support

Bake sale to offer 25% of all proceeds to fund Campaign’s initiatives to raise breast cancer awareness

Dubai, UAE, October 10 – The first Safe and Sound ‘Cakes for a Cause’ bake sale on October 13 invites the UAE community to show their support for the Campaign’s cause by purchasing the sweet treats on offer from some of Dubai’s leading confectioners and hotels.

The bake sale, which will take place at BurJuman from 4pm-9pm, will see a spread of some of the most popular cakes and other confectionery from Kitsch, Sweet Lane Cakes, Simply Delicious, Fooderati Arabia, Ginny’s, Dome Café, Brownie Point, A Touch of Frosting, Peace of Cake by Nidhi, Glittery Jimmies, Vanilla Sukkar, Slice of Life, Bloomsbury Cupcakes, Frosted Fantasies, Sugar ‘n’ Frost, Kulsum Khalid, Famished In Arabia, Reverie, Frosted Miracles, Sweet Stuff, Lino's Coffee and Simply Irresistible, as well as from the pastry kitchens of the Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach, Al Maha Luxury Resort and Spa, Raffles Dubai, Marco Polo Hotel, Radisson Blu and City Max Hotel Bur Dubai amongst other participants.

25% of all ‘Cakes for a Cause’ sales proceeds will be donated to Safe and Sound to fund the Campaign’s activities and awareness raising initiatives.

“This is the first year Safe and Sound has organized a bake sale. It’s a yummy way for individuals to contribute to the fund-raising activities and every cake bought will help make a difference. We are extremely pleased to have got some of Dubai’s most popular bakeries and talented pastry chefs involved in the event and are grateful for their enthusiastic support of the Safe and Sound Campaign,” said Sabina Khandwani, Spokesperson for Safe and Sound and Head of Marketing and PR at BurJuman.

In its fifteenth consecutive year since it was first launched, BurJuman’s non-profit campaign has once again teamed up with a number of organizations in order to generate the furthest outreach possible. Partners for the 2011 campaign include Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), ADCB, Amber Clinics, Del Monte and UniCare Medical Centre.
