Just Breathe

Winter is slowly coming to us now, and this type of mid-season weather is just perfect for those relaxing beach days and walk around the park. Where I live, we don't experience Fall or Spring, it's either summer (extreme summer that is) or winter. I'm excited to start bringing out my boots and cozy jumpers but before the summer season ends, allow me to indulge in my shorts and cut-out tank tops. I'm loving my DIY cut-out tank with a trippy ribcage print at the front. I bought this on my last trip to the Philippines and actually got it from the men's section, it was a bit loose so I decided to cut the armhole even more for a cool beach cover-up. The shorts from New Look, was a gift from a good friend of mine and they matched perfectly with the tank-top's colours. I finished my look with my trusty Vans sneakers and my fave leopard Vans cap.

Are you guys excited about the upcoming winter? Or are you secretly hoping it won't come so you can show  a little peek of your toned body? ;)

Striped florals

I'm more of a jeans, loose-tee and sneakers kind of girl and this day was one of those where you just want to get ready and head out of the door instead of making three or more outfit changes and poses by your mirror.

Since I'm always after the comfort factor and opt for basic silhouettes, I try to incorporate some fun prints into my everyday looks. So I combined this loose stripe tee with my fave floral vans sneakers. Comfy top, check, fitted yet super cosy jeans, check, fun kicks, check! Okay grab some breakfast and out of the door! (I would never forget food, it's that important to me)

La Vida Es Bella

A few weeks ago, I went back to the Philippines for a mini vacation and birthday present to myself. It's been more than two years since I graduated and left, I was so happy even if I only had two weeks to spend. The timing wasn't good at all since the weather was pretty bad, it kept on raining each and every day of my stay in there, nevertheless it didn't stop me from making the most out of it.

One of the memorable things I did was a photo shoot with the gorgeous Paloma Esmeria, a Filipino model and celebrity. It was a fun shoot indeed! So light and full of laughs. I found it very effortless to shoot her as she definitely knows what she's doing. I'm venturing out of my usual shoots, and this set was a little bit adventurous for me but I'm very happy of how it turned out. Looking forward to many more shoots ahead and another one with Paloma again! Who wouldn't want to shoot her for a second time around. Thank you to the beautiful Timi Dominguez (whom I was fortunate to shoot as well, posting pics real soon!) for organizing this shoot and for letting us do it in her place. I hope you guys like this as much as I do :)

Half hearted

Hello beautiful! Hope you're all having a nice and relaxing weekend. Woke up late today, turned on the telly and just relaxed. There's nothing like an off day where you can just plop yourself on the sofa and just ahhh.. this is the life.

I got carried away for a moment there but moving on to the look now. I love wearing skirts with sneakers, and maxi skirts are no exception. I just love how I can inject my skater lifestyle into my everyday looks, like this classic pair of Vans. Maxi skirts are sophisticated so I decided to tune it down with a knotted button-down shirt, I love how it finishes up the look with a casual feel. Nothing much for accessories but a big ol' Swatch watch to keep everything simple.

How about you? How do you like to style your maxi skirts?

My Everyday Make-up

Hello gorgeous! I thought I would do a little post about my everyday make-up routine. I don't normally wear make-up everyday but since I have to look presentable at work, (and my under-eye circles are far from being presentable) I have to dab on a few face-enhancing products. Here are the products I am currently using:

1. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 001 Transparent
2. Rimmel Powder Blush in 001 Santa Rose
3. Essence Eyeshadow in 03 All time favourite
4. Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in 002 Hazel
5. Benefit Benetint
6. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Lip Balm
7. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 050 Berry Smoothie
8. Rimmel 1000 Kisses Transferproof Lip Tint and Balm in 120 Tameless Tango
9. Barry M Lash Modelling Black Mascara
10. Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in  Ivory 320
11. Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer in 3 Medium
12. Garnier Anti Dark Circles 2 in 1 Tinted Eye Roll-on in Light/Medium

I don't use foundation everyday. I only use it on special occasions, I want my skin to breathe and feel natural even if I have my make-up on and using foundation, to me, seems like it is too made up. Plus I only have a few minutes to do my make-up in the morning, since I want those extra minutes to zzz, I'd rather skip the time consuming buffing of foundation. So, my first step is concealing, I switch my concealers depending on how bad my under-eyes look. Most of the time I put on my Garnier first then layer the Maybelline one for a more highlighted effect. I love my Collection concealer but I use it sparingly since it's not available in here, but it's amazing and covers up those nasty dark cicrles.

Next step is my blusher, I normally switch my Rimmel and Benetint depending on my mood. Both look very natural and stay on for a long amount of time though the Benetint lasts longer. Sometimes, I layer both of them on for a more vibrant effect. First, I dab on the Benetint, then brush on some Rimmel over it and it gives a lovely rosy finish.

I've noticed that groomed and filled-in eyebrows instantly gives off a more polished look. I always make sure to fill in my brows since I have splotches of sparse areas. After lightly drawing on them, I take a clean spooley brush and go through them to feather out and soften the pencil.

I used to hate powders, I never understood the point and it always left my face looking cakey. But I stumbled upon this product and it's just perfect! I swirl my Sigma powder brush and dab it on my T-zone and under-eye area and voila, it gives a natural smooth-looking effect. Since I don't use foundation, this powder helps in keeping my face from being a grease-ball throughout the day.

These are my lip products, again I switch them up depending on which one I like on that day. I always start off with a moisturised lip and I found that the best one to do the job is the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Lip Balm. It tastes just like chocolate and it leaves my lips smooth and truly moisturised. I tend to have chapped lips but this really helps. I love products that stay on because I don't have time to retouch throughout the day and the Rimmel and Benetint does a good job on staining my lips. The Revlon Lip Butter gives a cute flush of colour while keeping my lips moisturized.

Finally, my last step is mascara. I've used a lot of mascaras in the past and I've always hated how they couldn't hold my lashes' curl and that by the end of the day I find that it has already transferred onto my under-eyes. This Barry M product, keeps my lashes curled and leaves a natural looking effect. I've never been a fan of spider lashes and since I'm going for a natural look, this one does a great job, plus it doesn't transfer all over my eye area throughout the day :)

That's it, my everyday make-up routine. It doesn't take me more than 10 minutes to complete these step so it really helps even if I'm already running late for work ;)

How about you? What are your make-up staples?

Polished

August has come! For some, the hot, icky weather may be starting to cool off a bit. But in here, it's still as if we're just a couple of miles away from the sun, no exaggeration. I wore this outfit for a presentation meeting we had for the AW'13 season. An outfit I thought would make me look a little more polished without piling up a lot of layers, I mean who would be able to pull off layered clothing in this kind of weather and not shed a single ounce of sweat? I know I wouldn't.

I don't usually wear heels, but if I do, it's gotta be comfortable, so I got this classic wedge pair from Forever21 and they're really easy to walk into. If you're having a hard time strutting your stuff in heels, and seem like you just can't get the hang of it, ease yourself into those high stilettos by wearing wedges and just go on from there :)

Transition

It is getting pretty hot in here recently but I'm still not ready to dive into my summer pieces. I feel like it's still winter whenever I step into the studio (my work), partly because the aircon hits my space directly and because my body is just so sensitive to cold temperatures that I always find myself wearing long sleeves, cardigans and jumpers.
I bought this open knit jumper on sale for 30dhs. in H&M, 30dhs.! I thought that it was perfect for the cold with its long sleeves and cool enough with its holes to accept the warm weather outside. I love how comfy it is and slouchy enough to hide my bulging tummy after lunch, Bonus! Paired it with classic black leggings and skull-studded flats for a relaxed vibe and topped it off with a statement necklace for an edgy touch.
Right, so here goes another outfit post after a while. Hope you all have a nice weekend! :)

Rave: No Tangle Hair Brush

I have been dyeing my hair red for more than 3 years now and with this damaging procedure, I make sure I try my hardest to compensate with proper care. I'll let you guys in a secret though, I'm such a lazy person when it comes to hair maintenance, I rarely brush my hair. I only do it in the morning after taking a bath, on better days, I brush again before I sleep, but that seldom happens.
Brushing my hair is not an easy task, I always get tangles at the ends and combing them out is such a time-consuming and painful experience (I know some of you will relate to this) Everything goes smoothly, until I hit those dreaded ends! I have to brush through them softly, but let's be honest, who has time to delicately go through them? I know I don't. I cannot stress how much damage this is causing my hair. Until I found this *cue angels singing* No Tangle Brush from Macadamia Hair products. It has this unique flex design with uneven bristles that reduces the pain from brushing hair and slowly untangles your ends. I got this one in a promo bag as I was really after their hair masque. This weird looking brush came with the pack so I gave it a try, and was really impressed. It does what it says, No Tangle, it gets rid of those pesky little knots without the uncomfortable pain. It looks chunky and unusual but you get a good grip with its handle. Once you get going, the flexy bristles bend and slowly unties the tangles. I use this on wet hair too, I used to brush with a wide-toothed comb to reduce the damage, but this works really well. You can buy this brush here. If you have the same problem as I do, give this little wonder a try, it's definitely affordable.

No Tangle Brush

Wide head with flexible bristles

Short and long bristles

Beginning to see the light

Hi y'all, meet my model friend Yulia. She's such an amazing person. So beautiful inside and out. We did this simple shoot along the beach, very natural, with no make-up and understated clothes. I wanted her beauty to push through the simplicity, and it definitely did.
